What are single-line grease injectors?

Single-line grease injectors are used in a type of central lubrication system that distributes lubricant to multiple lubrication points through a single supply line. Each grease injector serves only one lubrication point and can be precisely adjusted to deliver the exact amount of grease or oil required. For example, some injectors are externally adjustable and fitted with indicator pins to easily detect problems. Other grease injectors may have upper or side adjustments and can be used in the same circuit depending on the lubrication requirements.

Centro-Matic systems

Centro-Matic systems are similar to single-line grease injectors in that they offer easy installation, operation and maintenance. They also have a wide range of pump systems, making them suitable for extensive installations. The replacement injectors are externally adjustable and fitted with an indicator pin so that any problems can be easily identified. Each injector has an indicator pin, so you can quickly see if there are any issues.

Each Lincoln Centro-Matic injector is manually adjustable to deliver the precise amount of lubricant required for each release. The Lincoln replacement injectors can be mounted individually on each bearing or grouped in a manifold with supply lines of lubricant to the bearings. Two types of injectors are available: an upper adjustment and a side adjustment. Both types can be used in the same circuit, and their selection is based on lower lubricant requirements.

Explaining the different types of grease injectors

Different types of Lincoln single-line injectors are available, such as SL-32, SL-33, SL-42, SL-43, SL-V, SL-V XL, and/or SL-11, each with its unique features and benefits.

SL-1

This injector is used for single-line, high-pressure central lubrication systems and is compatible with lubricants that work well with fluoroelastomer packings and viscosities up to NLGI No. 2. It has an externally adjustable output and an indicator stem for visual checks of its operation. It can be combined with other injectors such as SL-32, SL-33, SL-42, SL-43, SL-V, SL-V XL, and/or SL-11. It is also available in stainless steel SAE 316 for applications where environmental conditions are hazardous to carbon steel or in industries that prefer stainless steel. Its operating pressure ranges from 1850 to 3500 psi1.

SL-V

This injector is a significant advance in the Centro-Matic systems and is known for its superior venting capability which allows it to reset many times faster. This brings several benefits including the ability to use heavier grease, reduce supply line diameter, run longer supply lines, and replace dual-line systems. It also features a visual bypass indicator that warns of an internal bypass. A variant of this injector, the SL-V XL, vents as much as 80 times faster than other standard high-output injectors and can handle a maximum operating pressure of 6,000 psi2.

SL-11

This injector is also designed for single-line, high-pressure central lubrication systems and is compatible with lubricants that work well with fluoroelastomer packings and viscosities up to NLGI No. 2. It has an externally adjustable output, an indicator stem for visual checks of its operation, and can be combined with other injectors like SL-32, SL-33, SL-42, SL-43, SL-V, SL-V XL, and/or SL-11. Its working pressure is up to 3,500 psi and it has been tested up to 200,000 cycles without a failure.
